Most of us celebrated recently when news broke that model, Amena Khan would become the first hijab wearing ambassador for L’Oreal. Fast forward to today and we find out that she will no longer be moving forward with the partnership because of a tweet that resurfaced by the model.

Amena pulled out over accusations she made anti-Israeli comments in a series of old tweets.

The L’Oreal group said it “approved” her decision.

“We appreciate the fact that Amena has apologised for the content of her tweets and for the reactions they may have aroused,” it said.

This is actually not the first time a L’Oreal advertising campaign to promote diversity has failed, as last year transgender model Munroe Bergdorf was also booted over comments she made accusing all whites of racial violence.
